Accessibility
Prepared July 2026
YEC is built for founders and operators, and that includes founders and operators who use assistive technology. Every visitor should be able to read, navigate, and apply without barriers.
Our standard
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA across yec.co, and we test against it before changes ship.
What we have done
- Semantic structure and landmarks, so screen readers can navigate every page.
- Color contrast that meets AA on text and controls.
- Full keyboard operability with visible focus.
- Text sized in relative units, so your browser font-size setting is respected.
- Motion effects that turn off automatically when your system requests reduced motion.
- Zoom that is never blocked, on any device.
- Automated accessibility testing and manual keyboard review as part of our release process.
Known limitations
- Our application and contact forms are provided by a third-party service inside embedded frames. We have configured them for labels and keyboard use, but some behavior is controlled by the provider.
- Our archive includes several hundred articles from an earlier era of YEC. Some older posts may carry imperfect image descriptions.
- Event registration and video happen on external platforms, which follow their own accessibility practices.
