Frank Mengert has been proving people wrong since he was a kid. A successful entrepreneur, nationally recognized speaker, podcast host, and thought leader, he’s ignored the naysayers and his humble beginnings to build the life he’s always wanted and inspire others to do the same through his infectious mantra, “If I can, you can.” After a devastating layoff in 2003 and with his “life plan” spiraling, Frank decided to bet on himself and turned his then side-hustle into his main hustle, founding his first company. Five companies later, today Frank is the founder and creative visionary of ebm, a leading provider of employee benefits technology solutions. Under his direction, ebm has developed partnerships in all 50 states across the U.S., strategically working with many of the top ten benefit consultants as well as large regional players and local state-based firms. True to form, Frank, challenges conventional wisdom to help benefit consultants gain fresh perspectives that drive them in attracting, winning, and retaining business. As a leader in the employee benefits technology field, he helps bridge the gap between insurance and technology-driven solutions for brokers, consultants, carriers, and employers nationwide, bringing an energetic spirit and a unique, sought-after level of expertise to the world of HR and benefits. An eternal optimist who always finds a way to see through the darkness and make the possibilities realities, Frank is driven by a desire to be better and to do more. Every day, he focuses on three principles: learn something new, create something that didn’t exist, and share something with someone. Frank regularly speaks on topics related to developing perseverance and adaptability to achieve personal and professional success, empowering people to take action. He also delivers his first-hand experience as an entrepreneur as a contributing writer for Inc. and Forbes. And on his podcast series designed for those who want to do more in their lives and careers, 5 Questions with Frank, he interviews fellow entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, intrapreneurs, business leaders, and others who share their origin stories and lessons that shaped them. Along the way, Frank continues to build a highly engaged community of people who want to make a difference. Though he’s grateful for his business achievements, Frank has come to learn that true success isn’t measured in dollars; it’s defined by the impact you make. His mission is to give back and make the world a better place, to live his life in such a way that he leaves a positive legacy. Frank is a member of the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) and serves on the board of directors for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He’s also a member of NAHU, the National Association of Health Underwriters, and the Connecticut Technology Council.
