We are Gecić Law, the most innovative, leading law firm in the Western Balkans, Europe. We are committed to redefining the role that a law firm can play in an emerging regional market. We assist international and local clients from a plethora of industries in establishing, building, and maintaining their business presence in the region and navigating the complex legal landscape, shaped by the interplay between the existing local legal framework, European law & EU accession negotiations. Given that we are part of the TerraLex network and TAGLaw Alliance, our scope also extends beyond Western Balkans, across all continents and practice areas. Our expertise, commitment, experience and highest professional standards are widely recognized: in 2017, 2018, and 2019 our firm received a coveted “Top Tier” status and was the youngest law firm in Serbia to achieve a Tier 1 ranking in competition law, where we have a long-established practice. In Serbia, the world’s fastest growing FDI economy according to the Financial Times and Bloomberg, we managed to represent and successfully handle all the largest investment projects in the past three years. Most recently, our work on two separate EC investigations enabled Smederevo steel mill, the second largest Serbian exporter (EUR 900 million) which is responsible for 1% of Serbia’s GDP and indirectly supports 15,000 jobs, to continue successful operations under the new international owner. Our team comes from leading US and European universities – Harvard, University College London, Queen Mary, Florence EUI, KU Leuven, Maastricht University, Panthéon-Assas – and has extensive local and international experience, with a proven capacity to provide flexible, practical solutions even in the most difficult and highly complex cases. Our client portfolio covers multinational and national companies, tech, banks and other financial institutions, strategic and financial investors, large SOEs, SMEs and governments across the region.
