Andy Austin runs Adsora, a performance marketing company in Las Vegas.

We asked him to describe it.

"We do one thing: generate leads, appointments, and customers for home services companies and get paid per lead, not per month. No retainers, no decks about impressions. If the phone doesn't ring, we don't get paid, which is a stupid way to build a business and also the only structure I've found that keeps everybody honest."

We asked what the most expensive thing he has learned was.

"Hiring. I've hired too many people because they looked good on paper, with no red flags, which over time showed they were not a good fit for the culture or skill-wise. Advertising is a very interesting game where every industry is different, and often skills are not transferable."
