Elexa Koblentz, founder and CEO of ClauseIt, in Columbus. ClauseIt helps roommates and couples who live together agree on the things that usually blow up later: rent, deposits, bills, guests, what happens when someone moves out.
We asked what is taking most of her attention right now. She said:
"Nobody googles 'roommate agreement' the week they move in; they google it the week things fall apart. But landlords and property owners feel that fallout too: missed rent, deposit disputes, one tenant leaving the other holding the lease.
So the bet I'm making is that ClauseIt becomes a risk-mitigation tool for property owners, offered to tenants when they sign the lease, so the hard conversations happen before anyone needs them."
And then there is Marge.
"Margeaux, or 'Marge' when she's having a day, has been dog of the month, 6.5 years running."
