Dr. Sabrina Kay is a multi-sector serial entrepreneur, veteran board member, philanthropist, and a middle-market private equity investor in AI/tech-enabled education and healthcare sectors. She serves as a director of East West Bank (NASDAQ: EWBC), Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY), MannKind (NASDAQ: MNKD), Petersen Automotive Museum, LA Sports and Entertainment Commission, International Medical Corps, and is chairman emeritus of After School All-Stars LA. She started as an immigrant and single mom from South Korea and established the first computer-aided fashion design college, Art Institute of Hollywood, out of a garage space in Koreatown in Los Angeles, in her 20s. She sold the company to a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: EDMC) and retired in her 30s as a philanthropist. She continued her entrepreneurial endeavors and founded four other ventures: Premier Business Bank (sold to NASDAQ: FFWM), Fashion Umbrella LLC, LADesigns.org, and Fremont University, which she started as a laboratory for her doctoral dissertation, and Dale Carnegie of Southern LA. She served as the Chancellor and CEO of Fremont University for 14 years, revolutionizing talent management and diversity matters through innovative and collaborative tech-infused learning models. Dr. Kay received her joint doctorate degree in work-based learning leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. She holds double master’s degrees: an MBA from USC and a Master of Science in talent management from GSE at the University of Pennsylvania, all with the highest honors. She is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and Tiger21, among many other organizations. Dr. Kay has received over 25 notable awards for her achievements, including Woman of the Year by the California Senate and the United Nations Global Goals Award in Education. She is a sought-after board member and keynote speaker on innovation, growth, and leadership and serves on several corporate boards as an independent director, sharing her expertise in growth strategies, talent management, and governance.
