Michelle Waugh is the Founder and Designer of Michelle Waugh, a luxury outerwear brand reimagined for the modern woman. It is in a coat women come and go. Our collection is made in New York born from our mission to support luxury manufacturing in the United States. Every aspect of our sourcing and production is carefully considered, focusing on high-end fabrics and the perfect fit.  Born in Vancouver, Canada, her first defining moment came in 1999 when she couldn't find the perfect coat in any of the local stores. Armed with a sketchbook and two-yards of plum wool fabric, the determined fourteen year old created her own. In 2002, she applied for a unique opportunity to study abroad on a 188 foot sailboat. During her year at sea and continuing her journey afterwards, Waugh has traveled to over sixty countries gaining a greater appreciation of the world.  After her travels, Waugh attended Fordham University majoring in political science to further her interests in culture, politics and leadership. During her stay, she decided to continue her design education by simultaneously accepting a full-time position at Christian Dior's NY headquarters as office manager and moving into focusing on branding intiatives and development.  By 2009, she was asked to join Singaporean-based fashion brand, Raoul, with the huge task of creating their first launch into the US market. When their New York launch was a success, Waugh was given a glimpse into what it was like to be an entrepreneur.
