With a niche specialty in the men’s underwear market, he brings a track record of leading high-growth startups and building globally celebrated brands. As a business leader and category expert, he has been credited with reinventing the men’s underwear market into a highly lucrative space. Michael founded Freshpair.com out of a New York City apartment in 2001, quickly growing it into a multimillion-dollar brand and leading the company up through its successful sale in 2011. He went on to create The Underwear Expert as an online hub and content platform for the men’s underwear market, also serving as a consultant to emerging and established brands in the space. In 2015, Underwear Expert launched a premium curated men’s underwear subscription service, leveraging Michael’s rich industry background and cutting edge technology to transition the business model to be fully focused on subscription e-commerce. Regarded as an industry thought leader, Michael earned the monicker “The Underwear Expert” from notable media outlets (The New York Times, Men’s Health), frequently appearing in the press as a category and market expert. In 2003, he established National Underwear Day as an annual celebration featuring exclusive events, celebrity red carpets, and a full fashion show set atop a runway in Times Square. National Underwear Day has since amassed a global following and gained attention from thousands of media outlets worldwide.
