About
Luke Burgis is an entrepreneur and investor whose unique perspective on business stems from diverse experiences working on Wall Street, founding companies in Silicon Valley, and studying classical philosophy, theology, and literature. He worked in corporate finance and venture capital in New York and Hong Kong before starting his first business in 2005. After launching several successful businesses at a young age, Luke began to contemplate the deeper purpose of entrepreneurship. His journey brought him to the intersection of faith and human flourishing, which transformed the way that he thought about business. His person-centered approach to economics and entrepreneurship has contributed to award-winning company cultures and innovation. Luke is currently Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Ciocca Center for Principled Entrepreneurship at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC where he is spearheading new ventures in education, leading student programming and partnerships with local businesses, and teaching in the Busch School of Business. Luke is recognized for his "spiritual entrepreneurship" as the co-founder of ActivPrayer, a fitness company that provides coaching and training programs based on spiritual principles; and Inscape, an organization that trains mentors to help young people discover and live out their callings. He is co-author of the book Unrepeatable: Cultivating the Unique Calling of Every Person based on his work with Dr. Joshua Miller at Inscape. His work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, America Magazine, and Forbes, among others. He holds degrees from the Stern School of Business at New York University and the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. Luke lives in Washington, DC and travels often (Italy is his favorite). He spends his free time exploring new food worlds, reading voraciously, trying to understand the blockchain, and making excuses for not snowboarding as often as he'd like.

Company bio
Inscape is an organization dedicated to helping every person discover, embrace, and live to the full their unique callings. "Inscape" is a word coined by the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins to refer to the inner essence of a person or thing -- its "inner landscape". Inscape does this for people. The Inscape Vocation Mentor network is highly trained in helping others discover their God-given gifts and talents and live them out in their day-to-day lives. Inscape provides one-on-one coaching, organizational training, and services for companies who want to tap into the mission of the company and how the mission of each person within the company relates to it and serves it. The best-selling book "Unrepeatable: Cultivating the Unique Calling of Every Person" was born out of the work of Inscape after only its first year. Drawing deeply from the wisdom of the Catholic tradition, Inscape provides people with basic tools of discernment. The organization's offerings to the education market include a "Gap Year" program of world-travel that includes elements of Christian discernment, college preparatory consulting (but with a view to one's unique, personal vocation), and coaching services that help college students live out their personal call in the midst of the pressures of college life.
