Jean-Marc worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at UBS Investment Bank in New York, and was most recently an investment professional at Ripplewood Holdings, a US/Japan based Private Equity fund, where he conducted transactions within the Financial Technology, IT, and Consumer Products sectors. Jean-Marc also managed portfolio companies at Ripplewood, where he led various business development and financial planning teams. Jean-Marc holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and was a participant and organizer of the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition. He lives and works in New York.

Its core SaaS & payments platform automated the entire end-to-end Accounts Receivable (AR) management processes and leveled up finance departments through custom training, processes, and systems so they could get paid faster. • Conceived product vision and hired and retained top-level engineering, product, data science, sales and CX teams, and coordinated product development, launch and growth. Built API integrations with our clients’ internal Accounting & CRM systems, and got listed as the top AR management application on the Intuit App Center. • Raised capital from institutional and angel investors including the former CEO of Thomson Reuters, CEO of Dun & Bradstreet, Co-Founder/CEO of Greenhouse, and CEO of Kraft Heinz • Accelerated user base to over 1,000 active small business users via online and offline channels and expanded into the enterprise category. Set up a repeatable & scalable sales process and negotiated, closed, integrated and supported large clients like Vonage ($80K - $100K Annual Contract Value) • Expanded further into data products by building a team of MIT data science PhDs and successfully developing a payment risk model using a 15-year historical dataset comprised of +1M invoices, 140,000 businesses, and 100 industry sectors. Its predictive power comes with broad applications for banks, lenders, and credit bureaus • Used platform and payment risk model to expand into the ‘tech-enabled’ services space for AR management, where businesses could outsource their entire AR management to FundingGates. Set up customer acquisition and servicing process to close contracts ($10K - $20K ACV), with profitable unit economics and zero churn. FundingGates was acquired in December 2021 by a global online banking (neobank) fintech, powering their SMB credit risk decisioning, while empowering their SMB clients with FundingGates' receivables SaaS platform.
