I wanted to build a business that was a great place to work and a hard place to leave. I didn’t grow up with the language of entrepreneurship, but I had the instinct. At 24, I was building websites, which turned into Focus Lab — a full-fledged business. Suddenly there were people to employ. There was a culture to create. I knew how to build websites, but what did it take to build a team? Since then, I’ve pursued that question. Intrigued by people, teamwork, and leadership, I learned everything I could. At first, I imagined creating just one healthy work culture – my own, at Focus Lab. We achieved that, learning in the process that healthy work cultures have the power to impact much more than just the professional setting. They can enrich home lives, personal relationships, and even whole communities. I wondered, “What if I keep doing this, over and over, for more people and leaders and teams? What would the impact be then?” Today, I help owners, entrepreneurs, and leaders think differently about what work can be. I specialize in building cultures and teams, guiding my clients to rediscover their professional purpose, and showing them that it’s possible to nourish their work and home lives equally, in a way that allows both to flourish.
