Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC), an invite-only organization comprised of the world’s top entrepreneurs, is seeking a full-time community manager to join our fast-paced team. If you’re a natural people person who is highly organized and tech savvy this might be the perfect position for you. You will be responsible for supporting the founders of some of the world’s coolest companies including Rent The Runway, Hootsuite, Threadless, and Thrillist.

Must-Have Skills/Experience:

  • Previously employed in at least one other community management or customer service position
  • Basic knowledge of CRM software such as InfusionSoft and Salesforce
  • Basic knowledge of customer support applications like Desk.com
  • Experience with project management tools such as Basecamp
  • Experience with using WordPress as a content management system
  • Social media savvy, including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Skilled at delivering on metrics-driven results. Be prepared to back this up with case studies about how you directly supported community growth at your previous company.

The Ideal Community Manager…

  • A professional, courteous and drama-free communicator
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Great at independent problem solving, but knows when to ask for help
  • Has a high degree of patience when dealing with difficult people
  • Is genuinely interested in entrepreneurship, but not in running their own business. At YEC, you will become an “intrapreneur.”
  • Is a natural people pleaser. Your number one metric is increasing overall member happiness. We are hiring community managers who will stop at nothing to put a smile on someone’s face.
  • Will send us a fun fact about yourself as a P.S. on your cover letter.

Compensation:

  • $45,000/year salary (to start) with growth opportunities based on performance
  • Access to excellent health insurance and optional vision/dental insurance
  • Health insurance kicks in after a 60-day probationary period
  • Vacation time for all major holidays, plus 2 weeks of paid vacation every year
  • Additional vacation time is negotiable based on individual’s performance.

Important:

Candidate MUST be located in the Boston area and willing to commute downtown every day 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., except during “Remote Work Fridays.”
