What have YEC members been busy working on just in time for fall? Launching podcasts and forming contracts are just a few of the projects launching them into September. Below, we highlight 11 members and their big news.
Kenai Sports Awarded Sub-Contractor Contract
YEC member Charlie Bogoian‘s company Kenai Sports was awarded sub-contractor on a multi-year state contract in MA. Says Bogoian, “Though our focus is on uniforms and outerwear, we were presented the opportunity to create a sustainable textile purchasing program. Through a partnership with Milliken & Company, we are providing a solution for textile purchasing while simultaneously recycling the waste generated in their clothing shops.” Kenai Sports makes clothing out of trash pulled from landfills across the country. Jean Ginzburg Recognized as a ‘Woman to Watch’
Jean Ginzburg, founder and CEO of JeanGinzburg.com and Ginball Digital Marketing, was recently recognized as a “Woman to Watch” by Colorado Biz Magazine. JeanGinzburg.com and Ginball Digital Marketing help entrepreneurs, startups and small- to mid-sized businesses find new customers using digital marketing strategies. Read more about the honor here.
GoLeanSixSigma Recognized as One of Hawaii’s Fastest 50 Growing Companies
YEC member Karlo Tanjuakio‘s company GoLeanSixSigma.com was announced as one of Hawaii’s Fastest 50 Growing Companies for 2018. It is its third year in a row receiving this honor. GoLeanSixSigma is a simple problem-solving methodology that consists of five phases, also known as DMAIC. This includes defining, measuring, analyzing, improving and controlling. Robert Glazer Wins Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award
Acceleration Partners‘ CEO and founder Robert Glazer has won a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award recognizing the highest rated CEOs for 2018 in the U.S. SMB category. Glazer was rated #2 of 50 CEOs with a 99% approval rating from employees. Glassdoor’s Highest Rated CEOs list is released annually as part of its Employees’ Choice Awards. Winners are determined based on feedback employees voluntarily and anonymously share in Glassdoor reviews. Acceleration Partners is the leading independent affiliate management agency in the world. Trevor Owens Launches Javelin
YEC Member Trevor Owens recently launched his startup Javelin, a platform that helps entrepreneurs rapidly test startup ideas with customers. You can use Javelin to record customer interviews, test landing pages and use predesigned surveys to analyze important feedback. The all-in-one customer development software has powerful features and is based on eight years of teaching lean startup methodologies around the world.
Newchip Closes $2M Round
YEC member Ryan Rafols‘ company Newchip closed a $2M round and is expanding, hiring for new remote developers and positions in Austin. It launched its own round to its users and hit its minimum goal of over $50,000 in 24 hours. Newchip allows everyone to now invest in startups, pre-IPO companies, real estate, REITS and securitized tokens.
David Gardner Launches New Podcast, The Big Jump
YEC member David Gardner, co-founder & partner of ColorJar, launched season one of his new podcast, The Big Jump. Fueled by a mission to inspire people to make their next big jump, it’s a podcast about human reinvention. Each episode features a professional athlete who has leveraged their athletic mind to create success beyond sports. Nate Andorsky Starts Role as CEO at Creative Science
YEC member Nate Andorsky started a new role as CEO at his current company Creative Science. Creative Science applies behavioral science to create digital tools that turn its clients’ toughest challenges into their greatest opportunities. Andorsky believes that at their core, digital experiences are human experiences, which is why behavioral science lies at the core of all his company’s digital creations.
Srinivas Rao Launches New Book: An Audience of One
YEC member Srinivas Rao launched a book called: An Audience of One: Reclaiming Creativity for Its Own Sake. According to Amazon.com, Rao, host of the podcast The Unmistakable Creative, argues that we should counter the thinking that creating for our own pleasure isn’t as necessary as making money or pursuing fame by intentionally creating art for ourselves alone — an audience of one. Convene Raises $152 Million
Convene is the fastest-growing network of full-service, tech-enabled meeting, event and flexible workspaces. Founded in 2009, they have locations in New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Chicago (coming soon). According to Bloomberg, “The company’s goal is to increase its footprint from 582,000 square feet (54,000 square meters) under management today to 700,000 square feet by the end of the year, and 1.7 million square feet in 10 cities by the end of next year.” Previously, Simonetti served as a vice president at Gramercy Capital Corp., where he was in charge of the restructuring of a billion-dollar loan portfolio. Kelly is recognized as an active thought leader and industry spokesperson for Boston Properties University, WORKTECH, Cornell Baker School of Real Estate, NYU Shack Institute of Real Estate and MIT Center for Real Estate.
